Giving Day!

Giving Day is the biggest annual WPI giving event! For a period of 1865 minutes (~36 hours) people have the opportunity to donate to support clubs on campus. Donations made towards WPI Jazz Groups allow us to continue to perform and gives us the opportunity to perform on tours like the 2023 New Orleans trip!

Jazz Symposium Performance

Join WPI Jazz Groups for our Jazz Symposium performance on Sunday 2/16 at 3PM in Alden Hall! This concert will feature Jazz Combo, Jazz Ensemble, Stage Band, as well as exciting guest artists!! Free admission. Email gr-jazzofficers@wpi.edu with any accessibility questions.

Fall Concert

Come support the Jazz Ensemble as they perform in the 2024 Fall Concert, presented by the Wind Band Association and WPI Jazz Groups. The concert will be on Saturday, November 9th at 3PM in Alden Memorial Hall. Hope to see you there!

2024-2025 Auditions

Auditions will take place in Alden Memorial Hall on 8/20, 8/21, and 8/22 from 11am to 4pm. Warm-ups are in the Perrault Music Room in the basement of Alden, and the auditions will happen upstairs in Room 210 Jazz Office. Please sign up using this link:

Below are the audition requirements for the jazz ensembles:

  1. play a prepared piece of your choosing
  2. 2 major scales of your choice, Bb blues scale
  3. improvise over blues progression or a tune of your choosing
  4. basic sight reading

Below are the requirements for the brass ensemble auditions:

  1. play a prepared piece of your choosing
  2. 2 major scales of your choice, chromatic scale
  3. basic sight reading
